Here a few comments from parents and children regarding home learning in lockdown.
What have been the strengths of the remote learning for your child in the current lockdown?
- A lot easier to engage with live lessons
- Providing a structure to the day and writing/maths activities to keep skills up. Seeing other children, having work marked and getting feedback.
- Brilliant structure
- It is much more beneficial to the children to have the live lessons to enable them to interact with the teachers and see their classmates.
- Mrs Hunter has been amazing and we love to read her feedback.
- Interaction with her teacher and classmates.
- Live sessions, pre recorded lessons and the structure of having to register morning and afternoon.
- Continuity of teaching has been great and it’s helpful that the live lessons have followed a similar format for familiarity.
- It is extremely challenging trying to work full time and juggle two children doing on line learning. We have been really grateful that for the most part our child has been able to predominantly work independently. This has meant we can support his brother who needs more adult supervision. Whilst this an isn’t ideal situation the lessons have been so well delivered that it has allowed us to do that.
- It’s immense! Our child is far more engaged, is aware she’s keeping up with the whole class and enjoys the work much more. She has learnt to independently operate Google Classrooms including submitting work- great new skills. The teaching is fabulous.
- Face to face social interaction with peers and class teacher. Live lessons and completing work following a daily time table. Feedback via Google Classroom has had a positive impact on my child and he sees the purpose of what he is doing.
- My child is really enjoying the home learning. The teaching is fantastic and he is very engaged and focused with it.
- Interaction with teachers and seeing friends online has helped with the well being. It has made the children feel more included and less remote.
