Year 6 Weekly Remote Learning Timetable

Here a few comments from parents and children regarding home learning in lockdown.

What have been the strengths of the remote learning for your child in the current lockdown?

  • Staying safe
  • My child seeing his teacher and his friends
  • Following a timetable
  • Registering so being motivated to learn during school hours
  • Having live lessons
  • Seeing classmates faces every day
  • Having work marked and getting feedback
  • Continuity
  • He has really enjoyed being able to have contact with his teacher so that he is able to ask questions. It’s also really good that the work is getting looked at as this has kept him motivated every day to get it completed and handed in.
  • Still receiving education
  • He enjoys the opportunity to interact live with the teachers and pupils, which was lacking during the first lockdown.
  • The structure is working well for us. It helps us focus. The work seems to be well connected and building up skills.
  • He has been very focused during his home learning. He has had all questions answered that he has asked his teacher.  I think he benefits from the intro to the lessons then logging off to complete his work at his own pace, them rejoining to mark and discus the work he has done.
  • Having a daily routine and something to focus on every day is great. Completing tasks independently is a great way for children to prepare for high school.  I notice there have been some changes to how work is submitted and allocated which has made marking and correcting work a lot easier.
  • More flexibility in learning and the ability to go at a pace relevant tot he child
  • Flexibility
  • Teacher support
  • I think it has worked well having a plan of the day and being able to print some work. Being able to talk to the teacher live and send messages has been good. The content of each lesson has been just right.
  • Face to face social interaction with peers and class teacher. Live lessons and completing work following a daily time table. Feedback via Google Classroom has had a positive impact on my child. It has further developed her independence and will support her when moving to high school.
